Amla Berries: Amla is also called (Indian Gooseberry) and all parts of the plant are used in various Ayurvedic herbal preparations, including the fruit, seed, leaves, root, bark and flowers. Amla is helpful for gallbladder disorders and many conditions and very high in Vitamin C. It is used for when healing of wounds and fractures is a slow process or even scurvy. Amla is great for pregnant and lactating mothers. And it reduces the incidence of cancer of the gastrointestinal and respiratory tract as it provides protection against pollution. Amla is a great antioxidant to combat free radicals naturally. Likewise there are many Amla juice benefits as well. One can make use of Amla juice for hair growth as well.
A great drink is made from 1 to 1 ½ teaspoon of Amla powder with 1 cup of hot water and drink it first thing in the morning. Apart from the benefits of Amla powder, for general well-being it helps in strengthening the immune system. If you can eat raw Amla, it is best. Amla is also called Amalaki berries.
Amla enhances food absorption, balances stomach acids, fortifies the liver, nourishes the brain and mental functioning, supports the heart, strengthens the lungs, and they are sometimes used for constipation, they also increase fertility, aide the urinary system, for healthier skin, hair, eyes, cools the body, clears the body of toxins, improves muscle tone, and even helps to erase age spots. For Scurvy disease Amla’s high content of vitamin C, it is extremely helpful in that scurvy is mostly caused from a deficiency of Vitamin C. People suffering from scurvy feel weakness in body, bleeding in the gum, and the bones get disfigured. The bones of the body automatically begins cracking.
Amla Triphala: - Amla, Harad (chebulic myroblan) and Beheda (belleric myroblan). Triphala is prepared by mixing the powder of these three herbs together. It should be taken in the morning with honey. During day time it should be taken with warm water and at bedtime with warm coconut milk. The Average dose should be 2 - gm. Amla, also known as the Indian gooseberry.
Amla Berries for Scurvy: Dry Amla powder mixed with an equal quantity of date sugar or raw organic sugar or monk sugar taken in doses of one teaspoon 3 x a day with almond, soy or rice milk or juice provides enough vitamin C to beat scurvy.
Amla Berries for Diabetes and Eyes: You can also make a mixture of equal quantity of fruit, with Jamun (Java Plum) and bitter gourd powder. Take one teaspoonful of this mixture once or twice a day or use this in treating conjunctivitis and glaucoma and in case of acidity take 1 gram of dry Amla powder with a little date sugar or organic raw sugar and for Diabetes use monk sugar instead in milk or water twice a day.
Amla for Diarrhea: 1 tablespoon of paste of Amla leaves, mixed with honey or Coconut nectar is an effective treatment for diarrhea.
Amla for headache: Prepare the paste of Amla powder, Neel kamal and rose water and spread its layers on your foreheads to get immediate relief from headache.
Amla Hemorrhoids and bleeding: Use of Amla powder with curd or cream cures the bleeding of piles. Extract through juicer some juice of Amla, mix it with ghee and honey and lick two spoonfuls twice daily for a week.
Amla Berries for Jaundice: Amla powder with gur if used during jaundice in some cases it has cured it immediately. 4 grams of Amla powder with water taken four times a day has been known to help heal all liver disorders.
Amla for Mouth Blisters: Boil Amla leaves in water, rinse mouth 4-5 a day and they will be gone within 2-3 days.
Amla for Scabies and ringworms: Make powder by burning the seeds of Amla and grinding it. Make paste of the powder with coconut oil and spread its layer (thick) on the affected parts to get immediate relief from scabies after doing a steam or hot shower. Be sure to wash all bedding and clothes and spray everything contaminated with eucalyptus oil.
Amla Facial Mask: Mix 1 Tbsp. of honey and 1 tbsp. of Amla powder. Add 2 drops of essential oil to the mixture if you want. Stir until the mixture has a paste-like consistency. Apply the paste on your face, except your eyes. Leave the mask on your face half an hour. Rinse your face well with lukewarm water. This treatment can be done twice weekly and you will feel a pleasant glow immediately.
Amla Berries for Inks and Dyes: Amla is used in Inks, and Mordant for fixing fabrics due to its high Tannin content and used in dying doll clothes too.

Almonds: Contain many Vitamins and Amino acids, Carbohydrates, and many nutrients. Minerals and B Vitamins for Bones, Brain, Nerves, Skin and Muscles too. They are one of the higher sources of calcium among the nuts. Calcium prevents Spasms, Heart problems, and relieves anxiety, stress and fatigue associated with heart conditions.
Phosphorus in almonds is also abundant and between these three nutrients of Calcium, Magnesium and Phosphorus Almonds help to build and strengthen the blood and heart and to calm the nerves to prevent anxiety that can affect the heart. Almonds are also a good source of Vitamin E, to improve circulation, prevent scar tissue and thin the blood, promotes heart, and cardiovascular health and helps bring nutrients to cells and strengthen blood vessel walls, including capillary walls, Vitamin E also helps prevent anemia, high blood pressure and heart disease. Almonds are a good source of protein and Potassium.
Almond Milk: Soaked seeds are easier to digest. Blanch one cup of almonds by pouring hot water over the nuts, (after one-minute slip off the skins). This is optional – I usually leave skins on. In one quart of water in blender add, nuts, 3 - 4 Tbsp. of honey, and 1 Tbsp. of almond, soy or safflower oil (optional). Blend together for about 3 minutes adding water 1 cup at a time till creamy milk consistency. Strain pulp. Use a Nut bag 100% Organic Cotton Nut bags are available on Amazon for $15.00. You can save the pulp for baking and bottle the milk to use for anything where milk is required. This is great in milk shakes too. Almond Milk is also available in Health Food Stores and even grocery stores carry it.
Almond Peach Ginger Muffins: In a large bowl, combine 2 cups of flour, ½ cup of date sugar or monk sugar for anyone on a diet or diabetic, 2 tsp. of baking powder, ½ tsp, of baking soda and ½ tsp. of salt. In another bowl, combine 2 eggs or egg re-placer equivalency, 1 cup of plain yogurt, and ½ cup of melted butter, or almond or safflower oil, 2 Tbsp. of finely chopped crystallized ginger, cinnamon, or allspice or nutmeg to taste or various sweet spices, 1 cup of fresh peaches peeled and finely chopped, nectarine or a variety of various fruits such as banana. Fold this into flour mixture. Fill greased muffin tins ½ to 2/3rd full. Bake in a 400-degree oven for 25 minutes.
Almond Raw Pie Crust: You can also grind Almonds as flour with mashed dates and coconuts to form a raw crust and refrigerate for 1 hour and fill with mashed banana, or mashed avocado and honey or other fruits for raw pie.
Almond Cookies: Stir together 1 cup of rice or wheat all purpose flour, 1 cup of ground almonds or almond flour, ¼ tsp. of baking powder, a dash of salt, set aside. In a mixing bowl cream ½ cup of unsalted softened butter or unsalted soy margarine, Beat in ¾ cup of granulated date sugar or monk sugar if on a diet for 0 calorie all natural sugar 0 glycemic for diabetics, with 1 large egg white or egg re-placer equivalent and ½ tsp. of almond extract at medium speed of electric hand held mixer. Stir flour and ground almond mixture into the creamed mixture. Cover with plastic wrap; chill for about 2 hours. Shape dough into small balls, about 3/4th inch. Place balls 2 inches apart; flatten slightly with the bottom of a glass. Press an almond into the center of each cookie. Bake at 350° for about 12 minutes or until set but not browned. This makes about 4 dozen almond cookies.
Almond Maca Cinnamon Cookies: Beat ½ cup of butter, ghee or Almond oil, ½ cup of raw organic sugar or honey or monk sugar, add 1 egg or egg re-placer equivalent, 2 Tbsp. of milk (rice/soy/cow), ½ tsp. of cinnamon, ¼ tsp. of almond essence. Add 1 cup of organic spelt flour, 4 tsp. of Maca and ½ tsp. of Cinnamon, ¼ tsp. of Almond essence and mix well. Stir in 1½ oz. of chopped almonds. Grease baking sheets, drop 2 Tbsp. of batter (flatten), bake at 350 F for 12-15 minutes (until cookies are just brownish on bottom). Cool on sheet to make a dozen large cookies.
Almond Facial Scrub: Mix well, ½ cup of cornmeal, ½ cup of almond meal by grinding almonds in a seed grinder, Add 1-tsp. of chamomile flowers and wet face and neck. Apply small amounts massaging into skin in circular motion and rinse when done.
Almond oil Cuticles Softener: To soften cuticles and strengthen the nails, mix together 3 Tbsp. of almond oil, 3 Tbsp. of raw linseed oil and 3 Tbsp. of honey. Massage into nails and cuticles.
Almond Oil Bath Cubes: Mix together 2 Cups of Rock Salt, ½ Cup of Baking Soda, ½ Cup of Cornstarch, 2 Tbsp. of Almond Oil, 1 Tsp. of Vitamin E Oil, 1-2 Eggs or Agar Jell mix, 6 Drops of rose or lavender or other favorite essential oil fragrances together. Then cut out with cookie cutters in the shape you want. Bake at 350 degree 10 – 12 minutes Allow to cool. Use 1-2 per bath. Keep in an airtight container. These are perishable because of the eggs so use them up or give them as gifts. You can even create labels with imagery or holiday or occasion gift.
Almonds: can be added to sauteed vegetables, patties and casseroles and are a very versatile nut. Almond butter and milk is excellent in sauces, soups, and cremes also. Almonds make great nuts to snack on or with other nuts and dried fruits. Almond Butter us a great dip for apples or other veggies with honey. I make them for breakfast toasted and chopped in a bowl of quinoa with berries and yogurt on top.
Almonds Boats and Hats or miniature cradles: make great doll helmets using the almond shells or miniature boats or doll cradles. Make a tiny doll the size to fit in an Almond shell.
Avo the Avocado Prince ... is a very charming fruit to man
He can soothe your intestines; with his fruits he soothes all glands

So eat him in a sandwich; with an English cup of tea
When your under stress; his B's will do the trick
To calm your nervous system' so you will not get sick
When your feeling dry; and don't know what to do
Blend up a creamy avocado lotion; to smooth wrinkles out for you
His leaves can be chewed up for pyorrhea; for bad breath or the gums
Or applied as a poultice on a wound; or a tincture made with rum
Warm his leaves and applied for neuralgia; on to your own forehead
Or his juices used for Diarrhea; for a digestive tonic; its been said
Some even use his leaves for a cold, sore throat or a cough
Or roast and Pulverize his Seeds; powdered up; oh so soft
However, use some caution when using his leaves, some may say
Because some varieties can have toxic leaves, that could cause dismay
Also used in dysentery and for flaky dandruff in the hair
Or for a palliative for toothache or to redden cheeks as rouge so fair
For the heart and prostate gland; Avocado can be Great
Or a pie filling or a dip; or arranged in circles on your plate
Avocado Tree: The leaves have been chewed as a treatment for pyorrhea and applied as poultices to wounds and heated and placed on the forehead to relieve neuralgia. Leaf juices are used as antibiotics, treatments for diarrhea, hypertension, and sore throat and to regulate menstruation. Juices made from the leaves blended are used as digestive tonics and cough remedies. Avocado are also helpful for a healthy heart and prostate function. Caution: The leaves of some avocado varieties are also considered toxic and in some cases can be abortive.
Avocado Seeds: can be roasted and pulverized to create treatments for diarrhea and dysentery. Powdered, they have been utilized as a dandruff treatment. Pieces of seed can be placed in tooth cavities as a toothache palliative. Oil from the seed can be applied to skin eruptions. An ointment made from the mashed seed has been used for women’s makeup to redden their cheeks.
Avocado Salad and Dressing: can be made by using 1 ripe avocado, 1/8th tsp. of garlic powder, or 3 diced fresh cloves, 1/8th tsp. of black pepper, 1 Tbsp. of fresh coriander leaves, 4 Tbsp. of lemon or lime juice, and 4 Tbsp. of water to taste. Blend together and use as a dressing. Also Avocado is great in salads arranged in slices like a Mandala.
Avocado Pie: First make a raw crust:using almond raw pie crust recipe and you can also add grated lemon or orange rind for added flavor in the crust. after crust has chilled fill pie with another hour to set. For the pie filling: Mash avocados and bananas into a creamy mush, add honey, slice up berries or fresh fruit, together; Decorate with fruit designs, top it, with grated coconut, and soy whip creme. Use Berries to decorate. Delicious and yummy!!!!
Avocado and Lime Sherbet: Use one cup of water to 1 Tbsp. of agar flakes and soak for one minute. Boil for one minute. Then cool for one minute. Then blend together 1½ cups of pineapple juice, ¼ cup of lime or lemon juice, ¼ cup of honey or monk sugar, ¼ cup of cashews or coconuts, or both, 1 tsp. of slippery elm powder which is (optional): Blend first till it is smooth. Add agar-agar preparation; lime juice, honey, and slippery elm. Blend well. Add one medium sized avocado last. Blend and freeze. Serve before it gets too hard. Top with berries and avocado slices, or cherries. You can do this with any fruit juice, or various fruits.
Avocado oil: could be used in various cookie or sweet bread recipes. It is great added to soups to make it creamier or avocado fruit in cucumber soup.
Avocado steam or sauteed: can be steamed or Sauteed with other veggies.
Avocado Sandwich: slice avocado on sprouted millet, rice or wheat bread with a small amount of mayonnaise, alfalfa sprouts and or lettuce and sliced tomato. Sprinkle avocado lightly with spike. Also taste great with Vegan bacon or vegan lunch meats or cheese
Avocado Bean Taco: cut Avocado in pieces, finely dice lettuce and chop cherry tomato finely while cooking re-fried beans, toast taco shells 3 minutes, add all ingredients and top with grated cheese and or sour crème and or olives or other veggies.
Avocado Soup: Blend cucumber, dill, tomatoes, parsley and various vegetables of choice for a vegetable soup with Avocado added for creamy soup or make fruit Avocado soup
Avocado Guacamole Dip: mash avocados mixed with diced tomatoes, finely diced fresh garlic, curry, soy sauce and lemon juice for a dip or use other spices to flavor. Dip with chips or veggie strips. Veggie strips are preferable for good heart health. Or put in red cabbage leaves for a colorful snack or individual dip bowls. If on a Sattvic diet instead of garlic use 1/4 tsp. of asafetida.
Avocado seeds dyes and dolls: can be used as red dye for doll clothes and various toys. They can also be used as a head for a homemade doll. Avocado Seeds: An ointment made from the mashed seed has been used for women's makeup to redden their cheeks to play dress with. The seeds can be boiled for red dye.
Avocado skin shells boats and cradles: can be used as a boat or a cradle. Scoop out fruit for guacamole and dry the halves. You can float the halves as a boat with a tiny man or place cotton or corn silks for bedding with a tiny doll to rock to sleep. Here is a fun site Avocado Boat crafts
Avocado Mask: made of mashed avocados, honey, and lime juice applied to the face as a moisturizing treatment to counteract the drying effects of the hot sun. Blend the avocado, honey and lime juice with milk, cow's, almond or coconut milk to create a Lotion for facial and body massages.
Avocado Moisturizing Mask: can be used weekly as a treat to nourish dry skin. Mash 1 Tbsp. of ripe avocado and 1 tsp. of plain whole-milk yogurt together until creamy. Mix in 1 tsp. of the Oatmeal and ground wheat or cosmetic clay and 3 drops of sandalwood essential oil to make a thick, spreadable mask. Wash face with warm water and apply mask to skin. After 15 minutes, remove mask with a warm, wet washcloth and rinse thoroughly with lukewarm water. Apply a toner and moisturizer.
